On the Net Shopping Has Increased since the Great British Economic Downturn

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The retail market has noticed a downturn in the recent nine months with the volume of sales dropping month on month. The Great British economic downturn is a direct impact of men and women losing their jobs and the newspapers utilising the situation. In the last six months there has been in excess of 11 great high street stores that have been forced out of trading. Buy Laptop Stands online and save money. Book a Life Coach in london online.

The world wide web has observed a different tale. With overheads lower than its brick and mortar competitors, and with savings online has allowed for the UK public to purchase online and save themselves money at the same time. An incredible combination. One of the very best things about web shopping is the fact you may compare a number of different shops all within seconds. You might work out whether or not the price you are paying is the very cheapest, and of course you additionally save on the travel fees.

Some of the largest industries to see amazing growth online has been the computer furniture retailers which sell monitor arms and computer desks. Along side that has been self help mp3s, maybe to help people stay happy in the Great British economic downturn. And of course, people have presumably heard about the increase in sales of sex toys.

Report: Luxury Car Rental Breakdown

Renting an luxury car isn’t an easy conclusion to partake in. If one enjoy cars, it’s a safe bet you’d have a level of interest in an luxury car rental.Magnificent, luxury car rentals are a luxury not available to any body. Cost is the crucial factor, of course, and this is where renting an luxury car rental comes into play.

A possible roadblock in your pursuit to rent an luxury car is the actual rental cost itself. Expect to spend anywhere from a US$400 to US$2,000. Hardly chump change, I know, but let’s break this . Our example car will be a Bentley, a premier luxury car with arguably the choice ancestry in automotive history, according to the leading Atlanta Internet Marketing company.

A brand new Bentley costs a good hundred grand; perhaps about $30-40k less for a used version. So, lets say the monthly car note is a thousand dollars. Again, expensive as a mofo for 99% of the population. Peculiarly, this is the same amount of cash one’d expect to spend for a single day’s rental! If you break it down from ownership to a one day thrill you’ll never forget for the rest of your natural born lifetime, it’s a fair price.

I urge saving up your money, and indulging in an luxury car rental at least once–birthdays are good–just to experience it. I’ve rented luxurys a few times and, I can tell you renting an car of this magnitude is well worth the cost of admission. It’s like getting an allied health care travel jobs without the lasting consignment: a permanent occupation, to put it another way. Joy without the consignment

Homeschooling Children with Autism: 5 Reasons Why It Works

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

As a homeschooling parent of a child with autism, I am often asked, “How do you do it?” It takes dedication, planning, and research, of course, but I find that it is not all that difficult when I remember why I do it.

There are 5 primary reasons why homeschooling is the best option for my child:

1. One-to-one instruction provides for optimal learning.

It is a generally-accepted educational principle that the lower the teacher-to-student ratio, the more effective the teaching can be. Most parents realize that the more students a teacher has, the less attention and direct instruction each student will receive from the teacher. One-to-one instruction is always preferred for private lessons or tutoring because the lessons can be customized to the student’s ability in order to maximize their progress in the shortest amount of time.

Homeschooling or private tutoring offers a child with autism the opportunity to make the most of their learning potential. The child receives more direct instruction time, immediate feedback, and teaching that is tailored to their learning style and strengths. Due to the individualized instruction he or she receives, the child with autism is able to experience success on a daily basis which helps improve their self-esteem. Feelings of success are something that many children with autism do not experience in a typical school setting.

2. The environment can be adapted to the child’s sensory needs.

In a home setting, it is much easier to control the learning environment. Unlike a classroom situation where other students can be a big distraction from learning, homeschooling parents can structure an environment that is best suited to their child’s needs. Whether it is a quiet room, special lighting, background music, or breaks for sensory issues, the home can be an ideal educational setting.

3. Homeschooling offers flexible scheduling.

With fewer distractions and more direct instruction, home-schooled students require less of their time to be spent on schoolwork. There is no time wasted on the taking of attendance, class announcements, student reprimands, repetitive teaching on a subject the student has already mastered, etc.

The school day can also be planned around the child’s best time for learning. Some children with autism are “night-owls” by nature and have a difficult time going to bed early and getting up early for school. We can adjust our hours of instruction to correspond with the times that the child is naturally most alert and able to focus. We can also schedule shorter learning sessions throughout the day with plenty of breaks as needed. Shorter sessions also promote greater intensity and concentration on academic tasks resulting in the child retaining more of the material being taught.

Most parents quickly realize that another benefit of homeschooling is the fact that you can plan field trips during the week when places are less crowded. This is a big advantage for children with autism who may not do well with large groups of people.

4. The child has a better opportunity for positive socialization.

All socialization is not beneficial for our children. In schools, you must take the bad with the good. In a home setting, parents have more say in determining when their children are ready for specific social situations. For more on the topic of schools and socialization, see my article entitled, “Social Skills and Autism – Where’s the Best Place for Socialization?”

5. The child’s interests can be incorporated into their schoolwork.

Anything that your child is interested in can form the basis for their studies. In homeschooling circles, this is referred to as unit studies. You take any topic of interest and design a complete educational program around that topic. This approach works well for reluctant learners who say that school is boring.

For my family, homeschooling is a great time-saver that allows us to focus our attention on constructive social opportunities, educational field trips, and practical daily living skills. We don’t have to worry about which teacher our child is going to have every year nor do we have to spend most of the year trying to help the teacher “get to know” our child and their needs. We don’t have to fight the school district for services or for the correct implementation of services that were promised. We don’t have to waste our time going back and forth to school or to school-related meetings.

Simply put, homeschooling offers my son with autism a method of instruction that works efficiently and effectively to enable him to achieve his highest potential.

Red Flag Fighter Pilot Training with Holographic Projection

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Red Flag is the United States Air Force’s airborne net-centric war game training. It resembles the United States Navy’s famous Top Gun School only with added components. As warfare training and simulation gets better and our SmartBombs and Smart Munitions get smarter the future of war will be fast, furious and permanent for the players. You live or die based on your ability to communicate and execute.

Each year United States Air Force personnel rotate thru the high-tech war games of red Flag to learn how all the new components of the blue force communication in a net-centric team to identify, evaluate and terminate the enemy with split second and pin-point accuracy. So precision that the missiles launched fly thru windows and the aircraft fire before they are seen, as there is little left to chance.

Indeed there is no other Air Force in this world with the capacity and capability of the United States of America. I believe we can do better and therefore, I propose that we use state of the art Holographic Technologies in full motion 3D, 4D and 5D right up in the sky to simulate real world air-to-air combat, anti-aircraft fire and surface to air incoming missiles.

Military strategists and war fighters can play out the battle in the virtual battlespace in advance on tabletops at command and control and then watch it un-fold in real time. Meanwhile the USAF pilots can watch holographic images in front of them as if it were real and it will appear to be so real, that once in a real live battle situation, it will be a cake walk, think on this.

Through The Swamp And Around The Forests: Keep Going

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Last Sunday night I had a moment of queasy disdain, and almost sent all three chapters of my current novel into oblivion. In my black mood, I hated the book’s central idea, hated the characters, hated the setting, and thought that euthanasing the project would be a kindness.

Then I had an attack of sanity, wrote a few more pages, and decided that since I’d started the novel — I was well past my weasel date, my nominated cut-off point of 10,000 words, I might as well complete it. Only 100,000 words to go. :-)

What inspired me to keep going? A sticky note I keep on my computer monitor: “DDT – Do, Don’t Think”.

If you’re stuck, wondering whether you’re doing the right thing, or wondering whether to start a new business or a new project, DDT can help. Here’s how to use the process:

=> One: Write your intention for the project

It’s vital to put your intention in writing. So write it down: “I intend to write a book about —”; “I intend to start my own business doing —”; “I intend to take a trip to—”.

You may be tempted to skip this step. Don’t. Writing your intention is the first and most important step to making your new project a reality. You don’t need to write the intention anywhere special, in fact you don’t even need to keep the piece of paper you write it on. Just write it.

=> Two: Nominate a completion date

By when? Nominate a date by which your book will be written, your business will be doing business, or the day you’ll leave on your trip.

You can change the date at any time, but you must nominate a date right now.

=> Three: Nominate a weasel date

A weasel date gives you an out. You can opt out of the project on the weasel date. However, if the weasel date passes, you must complete the project. For a book, your weasel date could be when you’ve written 10,000 words. If you’re starting a new business, the weasel date can be when you’ve had business cards printed, or a month from today. If you’re taking a trip, the weasel date could be the day you make the plane reservations.

Write down your weasel date.

=> Four: Image the project

Close your eyes, and imagine. Imagine your project a reality. You can image your book’s cover, or interacting with a client in your new business, or arriving at your trip’s destination.

Make the images as real as you can. Use all your senses. Page through the book. Listen to what your client is telling you. Look around you at your destination.

Now create a symbol. Just close your eyes, and allow a symbol of your completed project to come to you. This symbol may be related to your project in a way you can understand, or not. You may picture a glass jar, or a kite, or a flower. The symbol doesn’t matter, just accept whatever comes. Write down the symbol. Then draw it. Date and keep the note on which you wrote and drew your symbol.

When you’re working on your project and want to give up, remember your symbol. Recalling your symbol will inspire you.

I’ve no idea how or why this works. The symbol comes from your right brain, your unconscious mind. It’s powerful, so don’t try to choose an appropriate symbol, go with whatever symbol appears to you.

If symbols intrigue you, try this wonderful exercise from Jean Houston:

http://www.jeanhouston.org/brain.html

Susan Wenger’s page on Image Streaming is also useful when you get stuck on a project:

http://members.tripod.com/ericsommer/id61.htm

=> Five: One baby step at a time

Work on your new project each day.

If it’s a long project, like writing a book, or setting up a business, you WILL have bad days. Remember DDT — Do, Don’t Think. Simply work on the project, get through that swamp in any way you can.

You’ll be amazed that often a day which started out as problematic, ends up being one of your most productive and useful days ever.

=> Six: Listen to your resistance

Your resistance is always important. Listen to it.

Take a sheet of paper. Write “I don’t want to do XX because—”, and keep writing for five minutes. You will be amazed at what comes out.

Usually just seeing your doubts objectified on paper eliminates them. For example, one of my copywriting students was hesitant to go full-time. She had ten steady clients, was working weekends and 16-hour days, but was reluctant to freelance full-time.

When she wrote out her resistance, she found that unconsciously, she was thinking that there was no way back, once she quit her job. While writing, she remembered that she had already been offered full-time work by one of her freelance clients — of course there was a way back, she could get another full-time job anytime she wanted to.

Our unconscious blocks are blocks because we don’t explore them: we take our fear as meaningful, and don’t ask ourselves what’s behind the resistance. Ask. You may be surprised that there’s nothing meaningful in your resistance at all.

Whenever you’re stuck, remember DDT — Do, Don’t Think. You can navigate your way through the swamps, forests and “here be dragons” areas of life. Keep going.

NBA Fullcourt Report

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

We are now entering the third month of the NBA season and injuries are beginning to play a major role. Tonight’s two national TV games are a perfect example as key players are either missing or questionable for each team.

HOUSTON at CLEVELAND (-7 , 191) (TNT)

The Rockets snapped their five game losing streak with a 123-111 upset win at Washington as a 5 point underdog on Tuesday. The Rockets dominated the game and led by as many as 26 points and shot an excellent 55% from the field. It was only the sixth time all season that Houston had scored 100+ points and only the second time they shot above 49% FG on offense. Tracy McGrady led the team with 38 points, while Juwan Howard added 24 points and played well above his average of 9.4 ppg.

The Rockets continue to play without center Yao Ming who is out with a toe injury. Ming is second on the team in scoring (19.9 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounding (9.0 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg).

Cleveland is coming off a big win last night at Milwaukee, 91-84, in which the Cavaliers overcame a five-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Cleveland also had to play without guard Larry Hughes who missed the game with a finger injury and is listed as questionable tonight. Hughes is second on the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and steals (1.5 spg) and third on the squad in assists (3.9 apg).

The Cavaliers have now gone 8-1 SU/ATS over their past nine games, with six of those eight wins coming at home. This is no surprise as Cleveland has been extremely strong at home this season, going 13-3 SU (12-4 ATS).

INDIANA at GOLDEN STATE (-8) (TNT)

The Pacers are struggling since their 5-1 SU/ATS run in mid-December and they have gone just 1-5 SU/ATS over their past six games, including a 106-86 loss at Denver last night. Indiana was short-handed as both Jermaine O’Neal and Jamaal Tinsley missed the game.

O’Neal is battling pneumonia and is listed as questionable tonight. He leads the team in scoring (22.3 ppg), rebounding (10.0 rpg), and blocks (2.3 bpg). Tinsley is questionable this evening with a biceps injury and he leads the team in assists (5.4 apg) and steals (1.5 spg) and is third in scoring (11.5 ppg).

Golden State has been a very streaky team this season and after a 0-5 SU run in mid-December, they have since gone 3-1 SU over the past four games. The Warriors have struggled on defense and they have allowed 48% FG or higher in ten of their past eleven games.

Golden State is likely without one of their best defenders tonight as center Adonal Foyle is unlikely to play due to back problems. Foyle averages 23.3 minutes per game and leads the squad in blocks (1.7 bpg).

Home court has been strong in this series, with the home team going 6-1 SU/ATS the past four years, including a perfect 2-0 SU/ATS last season.

The Romance Of Highly Scented Candles

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Before the discovery and widespread use of electricity, candles and firelight were the only instruments humans could rely on to navigate after dark. But in the 21st century, they are two of the most effective stimuli for creating a romantic mood. And if you use a highly scented candle, you’ll create an even more effective sensual experience.

Candles affect us on a number of different levels:

1. Gazing at a flame is a mesmerizing experience and relaxes both the eyes and the mind.

2. Because a candle throws light on a relatively small area, it creates a sense of intimacy among the people basking in its glow.

3. On an emotional level, a candle induces a sense of warmth, even though it emits very little heat.

4. A candle can also capture the eye through the beauty of its color and design, which are enhanced by the flickering flame.

5. A highly scented candle adds more pleasure to the mix by stimulating the olfactory senses.

You can use highly scented candles to create a romantic atmosphere during intimate evenings at home, or you can give them to special people in your life as gifts.

There are so many varieties of candles now available in the marketplace that you’re sure to find one to suit every taste.

Candle Uses:

1. Aromatherapy

The study of how scent affects the central nervous system is centuries old. Modern day aromatherapists can evaluate a client’s situation and prescribe a remedy in one short consultation. Highly scented candles can be used in the same way as essential oils to change a person’s frame of mind in a calm and non-threatening way.

Here are some uses for highly scented or aromatherapy candles:

a. To help a person feel calm, give them a candle scented with chamomile.
b. A lavender candle will induce a feeling of serenity.
c. To help someone with flagging energy, give him or her a sandalwood candle.
d. To help restore a person’s spirit, give a candle scented with ocean breeze.

2. Relaxation

a. Candles are often used in meditation, and suitable types include chakra candles and Feng Shui candles.
b. Meditators often use an aromatherapy burner fueled by tealights or votive candles.
c. Give highly scented candles to someone who enjoys taking baths by candlelight.

3. Color Therapy

a. Choose soft colors or light and neutral shades for people who love to relax.
b. Give strong colored candles to people who love to celebrate.

4. Celebration

a. Candles are regularly used in ceremonies such as christenings, birthdays, weddings and funerals.

Most candles are made from beeswax, paraffin, soy, gel and other materials such as resins. You can purchase clean burning soy candles if you or the people around you suffer from allergies or hypersensitivity.

Candle Shapes

Candles come in all shapes and sizes:

1. Long thin candles known as pillars and tapers
2. Small candles including votive and tealights
3. Geometric shapes, including balls, pyramids, squares and rectangles
4. Character shapes
5. Candles in decorative containers such as glass, wire or steel vases

All of these, with the possible exception of character shapes, make great romantic gifts. And even a character shaped candle can be romantic if it has a special significance. For example, a candle shaped like a snowman can remind her of the night you fell in love while building a snowman in her parents’ yard.

Most women love candles of any kind, and men who take pride in their surroundings will also appreciate a beautifully crafted candle.

Choosing a Candle

Here are some commonsense tips to help you choose a great romantic candle:

1. Keep in mind the colors the person favors in his or her home. Don’t give her a sparkling blue candle if her living room is decorated in shades of peach. Don’t give him a red candle if his apartment is painted in olive tones.

2. Go for clean, classical lines when you buy, like elegant tapered candles or classic round candles, either short or tall, in clear, beautiful colors.

You can buy a more extravagantly decorated candle if you know the person will absolutely love it. Or you might buy a fun candle for someone with a great sense of humor. If you’re absolutely stuck, buy white.

3. If you know the person well, you might choose a candle that fits in with his or her interests. A zodiac candle will thrill an astrology buff, while a pyramid candle will please an ancient history enthusiast. You can find a whole range of candle containers that feature dolphins, butterflies and other motifs that make for an excellent personalized gift. Choose a highly scented candle that features one of their favorite scents.

4. Take into account the person’s allergies or beliefs about using natural products. Look for candles made of environmentally friendly materials like soy.

It’s worth taking the time to think through the other person’s preferences before you buy a candle for a romantic gift. People recognize when thought has gone into a gift selection, just as they sense when the choice was haphazard. Your thoughtfulness will add immeasurably to their appreciation of your gift.

All the Information Students Need to Understand Concerning Medical Insurance Plans

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

It’s easy to overlook health insurance policies while planning a college education. Students are at an age where the need for medical insurance is the very last thing on their mind. In your 20’s you will generally tend to think that you are immortal so naturally you’ll never become ill.

As we all know, this is seldom true irrespective of how well a person may be. Affordable student health insurance is not for the wealthy, it is in truth an essential.

For those who are lucky enough included in their family policy, most family policies will extend to a student up to the age of twenty three. For individuals who don’t have insurance coverage via a parent’s plan, getting insurance plans for affordable student health insurance must be an essential part of budgeting for college.

What’s essential in an insurance plan for students? Deductibles: It is a yearly payment made before any health benefits commence, akin to an auto insurance plan. An example might be, if your deductible is $500, you have to pay that sum before getting benefits from your insurance. So what is a co-pay? Once you meet your deductible, almost all plans require you to contribute a percentage of the cost for every doctor’s visit, medicine or operation. That, succinctly, is co-pay.

What is your area of insurance cover? Many plans are Health Maintenance Organization or PPA. This means particular doctors might not be in your list of health professionals or not be covered by a insurance plan. Most programs include a listing of participating providers, before you make your choice ensure you look into this list carefully. What is catastrophic insurance coverage? You should be mindful that there is frequently a limit on college student health insurance policies in particular as far as serious illnesses, the coverage included in most student health insurance is by and large less than a regular insurance policy. So what are the limits? Student medical insurance plans normally have some limitations. Study your policy to discover what is in reality covered.

Keep all of your insurance papers secure everywhere. Illnesses are not just not possible to anticipate, but they are in all probability likely to hit when you don’t expect them. Acquaint yourself with your policy, whether through your parents or with your own selection of insurance.

Grease’ is surely one of the UK’s most cherished shows, including quite a few hit motion pictures (including Grease’ with John Travolta & Oliva Newton John), ample stage editions, and a music score that pretty well everyone could enjoy. Written by Warren Casey & Jim Jacobs, Grease’ originally started in Chicago in nineteen seventy-one with such bright reviews that the musical was quickly exported initially to an off-Broadway position in the Big Apple, and then subsequently to the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway – all this within twelve months of it’s initial opening! Most recently Grease’ has re-opened to the public at the Piccadilly Theatre &, judging by the consistent sell-outs, it will certainly continue to show for a significantly long time to come. Today’s existing London cast includes Danny Bayne as Danny, Nicola Brazil as Sandy, Natalie Langston as Rizzo and Stuart Ramsay as Kenickie.
