Free High Quality Traffic - Just Press Submit

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Imagine getting free high quality, targeted traffic to your website. How much would that be worth to you? What if you could get it for free?! Sound too good to be true? Its easy, and its free!

Imagine being able to promote your website, establish credibility and build a solid customer base just by pressing submit! You can get free publicity by writing articles that publishers can post in their newsletters or post on their website. By submitting your content to article directories, you can potentially reach tens of thousands of Internet users. If your article is good enough, you may find out that it gets published in an e-zine that is read by millions of subscribers across their network. How much would you pay for that kind of exposure? The good news, is that you don’t have to.

The key to finding success in article submission starts with and ends with your content. Not surprisingly, if your article is well written, and compelling, with an attractive call to action, you will get the results you are looking for.

Here are a couple of tips for you:

a) Keep the articles short. The average attention span of most internet users is short. If you write a long expose on your product, you’re likely to lose their interest. Keep the article to approximately 750 - 1000 words. If they are interested, your resource box will direct them to your site, where they can learn more.

b) Keep the article focused. Focus in on one tip or solution. Sell the reader on the idea that you can provide them with answers they are looking for. This will get them interested in visiting your site to see what other tidbits of information your site provides.

c) Keep It Simple. While you may be well versed in your product and solutions, you want to attract a wider range of potential customers. By keeping the article in simple terms, you can attract both the experienced and the novice to your solutions. Speak from your experience, which builds credibility with your reader.

d) Don’t gain the credibility and integrity you have built with the reader, only to lose it with grammatical and spelling errors. Have someone proof read your article.

e) Avoid selling. You have a website for that. Provide advice that has value based on your experience. This will entice the reader to go to your site to learn more. Avoid using affiliate codes within the body of your site, since this will make your advice look biased. Also, publishers want quality content. Sell them on the fact that you can provide solutions to their problems, not to the product you are pitching. Let your website do that when they visit you.

f) Work just as hard on your resource box as the rest of your article. Your resource box provides your chance to invite them to your site, which is how you will get instant, high quality, targeted traffic. Keep it to a maximum of 6 lines. Remember to link your keyword to your site. This will help improve your search engine rankings for that key phrase.

g) Before you submit: Follow the publishers guidelines. If you don’t follow the guidelines, its likely that you will find that your article will be deleted and an opportunity lost.

h) Use an attention grabbing headline. Like a sign in a store front that catches your eye, if you use an attention grabbing title, the reader will instantly want to know more.

There are several websites that will publish your articles. Go to Google and type in the words ’submit and article + your area of interest’. You may also want to consider purchasing Article Announcer which will help to automate this process. While it may appear expensive, this software package is worth it if you plan on submitting several articles to ezine directories.

Trick or Treat Safety Tips

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Parents should accompany kids on trick or treating on Halloween. It is imperitive that we keep all out children safe. While chaperoning your kids and their friends it is best to stay about 10 to fourteen feet behind them so you can observe the surrounding situation and be certain that there are no approaching threats. Also it allows the kids to enjoy themselves and not feel as if you are bothering them. It is their night to remember and we must remember to make it enjoyable for them. You should remember to bring your flashlight. Perhaps also have your children wear or carry a glow stick so you can identify them by this as they run up the driveways to the porches.

Always position yourself so you can see the door of the house they are approaching and only go to neighborhoods you are familiar with. Do not allow your kids to go alone, even in a group. When their bags get too full carry the extra so they do not lose it or have it stolen from bigger kids.

Costumes should be cut if they hang down past where normal jeans might to avoid tripping. Always use cross walks, because many costumes are black in color and many drivers are impaired after Halloween parties. Even if your kids go with a neighbor who is chaperoning make sure they have their name and phone number on a piece of paper on them at all times. Be sure you children know not to ever go into a stranger’s home.

Dispose of any unwrapped candy and as UNISEF says; “If in doubt then throw it out!” Tell your children to be very polite when trick or treating as some residents may have had a bit too much to drink and perhaps might have a mean streak about them.

Be safe this Halloween and be sure to thank each person that gives you candy. Have a great time, I know you will, and think on these things.

Exercise Good Judgment To Find The Best Free Stuff On The Internet

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Since the launch of the web, there has not been a shortage of freebies available. These range from free email to free airplane tickets and everything in between. Generally, people either believe everything they see or nothing at all. In reality, the smart user falls somewhere in the middle. It is important to exercise good judgment in order to take advantage of all of the legitimate freebies that the internet has to offer.

The first thing to keep in mind is that if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. Logic tells us that by signing up for a credit card, we probably aren’t going to get a free IPOD. The same goes for the emails that promise great items in return for forwarding them along to friends. While these offers may be a waste of your time and energy, there are plenty of great offers out there.

Websites such as http://www.coolsavings.com/, and http://www.kalamafree.com/ offer a wide variety of consumer goods for free. These free samples include medicine, diapers, soap, men’s magazines, gift cards, clothing, food, music, books, and much more.

There are a few different ways to find the best free items available. One easy method is to locate some of the large freebie directories, such as: http://www.1freebieseeking.com/. This will allow you to have a one-stop location that can offer thousands of freebie options. Another method is to seek out a specific free item that you are searching for. This can be done by using a search engine to find the free offer you desire. For example, if you wanted to find free Frisbees, you would search for free Frisbees. This will allow you to avoid the clutter of the large freebie sites and find what you are looking for more easily.

The volume of free goods that you can accumulate through the web is only limited by your creativity. Exercise good judgment and you will be on your way to enjoying many new things with little cost to you.

Balancing Cost and Appearance When Searching for Wedding Rings

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

You’ve decided to get married and tie the proverbial knot. Now comes the part where you and your future spouse must choose the symbols of your imminent union, your rings. To simplify this task, keep these thoughts in mind when you begin shopping. After all, with your wedding date fast approaching, finding the right rings at the right price will simply be one of the worries you’ll have to contend with.

Your first decision will be the type of material you want for your bands, which may be yellow gold, white gold, platinum, titanium, or even as unusual sounding a material as tungsten. The metal you choose will be very important. Not only will the metal used to make a ring determine its appearance, it will also go a long way toward determining its strength, weight, and durability, as well.

It goes without saying, of course, that yellow and white gold wedding bands are still the most commonly worn rings today. But, with regard to durability, they are also among the weaker choices, as gold is softer and less dense than many other metals used for ring construction. Here’s a tip: if you really want gold bands, but also want your rings to hold up over time, choose a 14k or 10k ring versus an 18k ring. A lower karat number indicates a lower percentage of true gold mixed together with a higher percentage of added metals, which makes, nicely enough, for a stronger ring. Ironically, when it comes to gold rings, the less expensive the ring, the stronger the ring actually is.

Of course, if you are looking for real strength and durability, consider a platinum band. Platinum is incredibly strong due to its metal density, so if you want the ultimate in precious metal strength and durability, platinum is for you. However, platinum is even more of a “precious metal” than gold, due to its rarity. And that brings us to our next consideration: cost.

Rings, like any type of traditional-event purchase, fall into pricing categories that cater to high-end buyers, mid-range buyers, and lower-end buyers (typically, this covers young soon-to-be-marrieds who are just starting out and may barely have a roof over their heads after the reception is concluded). Gold rings of various styles and karat weights are certainly available to buyers in all price ranges. Platinum, though, may bring up cost issues that are not advantageous for many young couples starting out.

However, if you are looking for rings that are “different”, very durable and strong, and, at the same time, are not particularly expensive, you may wish to consider bands constructed of titanium. Titanium is an extraordinary metal that, by weight, is stronger than steel. It is an also an inert metal that is impervious to corrosion or decay. And, nicely enough, despite the fact that it is so very strong, bands made of titanium tend to be fairly inexpensive. Yet titanium may be a perfect choice for those who work with their hands, such as mechanics and carpenters.

Once you’ve decided on the type of bands you want (material, appearance, durability, and price range), your next step will be to decide where to make the actual purchase. In some regards, this is very similar to car shopping. As with buying a car, you consider first what you want and then consider where you should go to get the best deal in terms of quality and cost.

Where should you go to buy your wedding bands? Well, there are a large number of franchise jewelry stores to choose from. However, a local and “locally-owned” jewelry store may offer better service, and, potentially, a greater willingness to “bargain” (though, it should be said that chain stores can often use an economy of scale to drive prices down considerably). Also, though chain stores may feature financing arrangements on ring purchases, locally owned stores may offer financing that is more flexible.

But, regardless of the type of wedding bands you ultimately decide on, or even where you decide to buy them, you will, without a doubt, save a considerable amount of stress and, perhaps, money, if you simply consider, beforehand, what it is that you truly want and can be satisfied with.

When to Fold in Online Poker

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

In the game of poker knowing when to fold your cards in and call it a hand is just as important as knowing when to press the bet. In fact if there is one poker skill that not enough people learn, it is the poker skill of knowing when the right time to fold is. Folding at the right time does more than just save a few bucks on a bet. It also lets other players know your poker skill level, which is a whole poker game itself. The trick of folding is not so much when you do it as how you do it. Just simply throwing your cards in will be viewed different in a poker game then if you spend a bit of time in thought, reach for the chips, take your hand away and then throw in the cards. A good poker players knows how to use both the fold and their actions during the fold to the best effect for the never ending psychological chess match that is inherent to all poker games. So next time you feel like you need to fold, think about how you want the fold to look. Do you want the fold to look weak? Or do you want to leave your opponents wondering what it was that you held? Folding, as you can see, is much more than just throwing in the cards.

FREE Dog Training Tips: Easy Steps to Leading the Pack

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

[This article is the first in a 3-part series about changing
dog behavior using positive dog training methods.]

Be a leader, a dog will follow.

Hum, what does that mean?! Simply put, if you lead the
pack, your dog will follow you to the ends of the earth.
Some basic and easy adjustments in your dog training routine
can result in huge changes in dog behavior. The simple truth
is…dog behavior is a result of human behavior. That is,
your dog reacts to you. If you take the time to teach your
dog appropriate behavior, and you are consistent in
reinforcing it, your dog will work so hard to please you.
One key to changing and reinforcing new dog behavior is
using positive dog training methods. This article introduces
some basics in beginning to get some respect from your dog.

Dogs are pack animals, and they want a leader to tell them
what to do and what dog behavior is appropriate. If you
don’t step up as leader, your dog, no matter how big or
small or cute and fluffy, will take over as leader (not just
of other dogs, but of you, your spouse, your kids, the cats,
and anything else that moves and breathes). This is not the
ideal situation, as you can see from the following example.

The Franks are a real family where the dog runs the house.
King didn’t want the role of leader, but no human stepped up
as leader so he felt he had to. His “pack” consisted of dad,
mom, and two kids. Being leader was a big job–keeping track
of the pack, teaching them the rules (which King made up),
and enforcing the rules was a 24-hour job. He successfully
taught the family to stay away from his food and toys
(growling and snapping when they got too close), not to
disturb him if he was napping in main traffic areas like the
middle of the kitchen floor, that certain pieces of
furniture were his and his alone, and that he decided who
got to come into the house. The young boy became a playmate
whom he could nip and jump on; the older child and the
parents were there to care for him. Any infractions of these
“rules” were quickly and severely disciplined by King with
growling, biting, snapping, baring teeth.

If King’s household is like what you experience in your
family, we’ve got some gentle and positive dog training tips
to help you take back your leadership role.

Put these simple steps into your dog’s daily life and watch
the dog behavior changes. Each of these steps shows your dog
that YOU are the leader. Let’s start simple, with 3 very
basic and easy (for you) new dog training ideas. Once you’ve
mastered these, in the next article, I’ll introduce several
more.

1. Show me your tummy!

Make it a positive experience for your dog to roll over for
that yummy tummy rub. This submissive posture indicates a
deferment to your leadership.

2. Praise, praise praise!

Praise for being a good dog. Any dog behavior you like and
want to keep, praise it and give a small treat occasionally.
This focus on what you want is much more successful than a
focus on what you don’t want. No free treats or praise for
the dominant dog. If your dog wants to be petted, have him
sit first! Everyone wins and the dog is learning manners at
the same time.

3. Get out of the way!

A leader gets respect. For Scout, that means no lying in
high traffic areas (hallways, middle of living room or
kitchen), no sitting on your feet, and no refusing to move
out of the way. Gently scoot your feet in the direction you
want to go while using excited tones and waving your hands
to get him up and moving.

For a dog, trying to live with everyone “just getting along”
does not work. Dogs live in packs with hierarchies, not
democracies. Remember, no human leadership means Fifi will
take over and set the rules. It’s time for you to step into
the leader position. If you do, you will notice positive
changes in your dog’s behavior right away. You and your dog
will begin working as a team.

Be the leader–your dog will love you for it and you’ll be
surprised how hard he’ll work to please you.

Get started using these 3 tips and check back in a few weeks
for the next set of easy dog training steps for outstanding
dog behavior!

Banks vs Owner Financing

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

It can often be difficult to obtain a loan from banks, which is why owner financing is becoming very popular among home and real estate buyers. Among the many perks of owner financing, the seller often accepts a low down payment whereas banks often charge 20% or more. In addition, many owner financed properties can be obtained without a credit check. This is especially beneficial for anyone who has a few blemishes on his/her credit report, which may cause banks to charge a higher than normal interest rates. An individual, or real estate developer, who is in the business of providing owner financing will likely extend financing to anyone who agrees to keep the payments current.

In recent years, the internet has become a hub for owner financing properties while also providing plenty of lending opportunities for anyone who wishes to apply for a loan from banks. Currently, a lot of the major internet auction sites have a category that is specifically designed for buying and selling real estate. These categories are more often used for owner financing options related to land purchases, but buyers will find a few homes sprinkled in now and then. From a mountainous retreat to a tropical island paradise, there is owner financing for land in these and other areas.

Customers who wish to apply for loans from banks will find a variety of resources online, including eloan.com and lendingtree.com. These sites offer a customer the ability to have banks competing for their business. According to these sites, offers may begin arriving within hours. Not everyone will be approved, however, as there are a number of deciding factors that banks look at when deciding to extend credit. Among them, the customers credit history, debt to income ratio, ability to repay the loan and the presence of regular income.

Loans that are obtained through banks will require documentation, which may include previous 2-3 years of tax returns, current pay stubs and/or proof of employment. If they own land, individuals who are interested in buying or building a home will find that they have more success with banks. The reason is because the land will become partial collateral for the loan and, if the buyer defaults, banks will foreclose on both the house and the land. In addition, many land owners do not have to come up with the money for a down payment as the equity in their land will serve as the down payment.

How to Write Advertising Headlines

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Copyright 2006 Joseph Farinaccio

The main purpose of a headline is very simple. You want to grab the attention of your ideal prospect so they’ll read the next sentence in your advertising copy.

Easy to do. Right?

Well… not so fast.

It’s possible. That’s the good news. But you have to do your homework first. There are books written on how to write a great headline. If I said you’ll find everything you need to know in this article my nose would grow like Pinocchio’s. But I can help you get started in the right direction.

A headline should have the full attention of your prospect in 5 seconds or less. If it doesn’t the rest of your copy probably won’t get read.

Many copywriters think the headline is the MOST important part of the copy because it’s read 5-8 times more than your body copy (on average). In short, your headline must get the job done. This is where the homework comes in.

I’m assuming you’ve already done the homework for your product or service. You know it inside and out. You’ve listed all its many benefits in exhaustive detail.

Great!

Now you focus on researching your customer. Advertising legend Denny Hatch says it best, “To write a great ad you have to get inside your customer’s head.”

You have to become familiar with your customer’s interests, desires, and problems. You have to know your customer’s mindset. How do you do this? Research tactics might include any or all of the following…

1) Talk to people in your target audience.

Talk to any friends who are similar to your ideal prospect.

Call potential prospects on the phone. Simply tell them you’re doing market research and ask for their input and advice about your product.

Make notes - - especially when you hear the same things mentioned over and over again by prospects.

2) Read what they read.

Newspapers and magazines.

Trade journals for the industry (etc).

3) Read other advertising literature directed at your prospect. Read any controls you can get your hands on for related product(s).

This includes collecting competitors’ marketing promotions, direct mail or other advertising. Study them. Pay careful attention to promotions that are mailed over and over again. Those are sure winners. They’ll give you insight into the emotional appeals and messages that are currently working.

4) Read what your prospect has written or spoken.

Read testimonials sent in by your prospects. (Maybe your sales letter headline could be geared towards the thing customers liked the best?)

5) Read any of your prospect’s complaint letters. What bugged them about the product? What didn’t they like about the company? Did they suggest how to make things better?

6) Research your prospect on the web.

Take notes. Write it all down.

Okay, now the fun part.

Write down who your ideal prospect actually is in 2-4 sentences. Be concise. Be specific. You’ll be merging your product with this person.

Picture them in your mind. Their sex. Their age. Their job. Their work environment. Their home life. The age of their children (if any). Your sales letter headline is going to be written to this one person.

Let’s say you’re a software developer who has put together a complete home-business package that makes it easy to write medical reports for doctors. Since doctors frequently outsource this work it makes a great small business opportunity. You think your research has uncovered the ideal prospect. Now you write down exactly who this person is…

“My prospect is a busy stay-at-home mom taking care of small children. She’s left her full-time job to take care of her family while the children are small. She has lots of business and computer skills gained from her previous work experience.”

Next…

Write down in 2-4 sentences what your prospect really WANTS.

“She wants to make a steady $200-$300 a week to increase the family’s income. She wants to work from home, but only 10-20 hours a week. She doesn’t want her children’s needs to suffer while she works at home.”

Now, put this information to work for you.

Use your headline to speak to the most important burning desire within your prospect as it relates to your product or service. Try to match what she most desires with what you have to offer her. There are different tactics for achieving this (we’ll look at a few in a moment). But, as a general practice, your headline should convey your strongest benefit.

Now, what’s the best way to do this? Copywriters have strong opinions over the best way to achieve this. But there does seem to be a little consensus on certain things about headlines.

A headline might do any of the following:

a) Convey the most important benefit to your ideal prospect. Use clear, simple, and direct language. Don’t be cute. Be specific. Avoid generalities.

Don’t say, “This marketing system will help you increase your profits…” Instead say, “This Marketing System is Guaranteed to Increase your Profits by at least 43% over the next 6 months…”

Here’s an example of a sales letter headline targeting the stay-at-home mom…

“Here’s a Quick Way for a Stay-At-Home Mother to Earn $312 Dollars a Week Part-Time at Home Without Sacrificing Family-Time”

Here’s another benefit-oriented headline…

“Eliminate Pain after Your Surgery using an All-Natural Remedy Just Discovered by Princeton Medical Researchers”

Select your target customer by speaking directly to the one your offer is meant for…

“A Proven Way for Miami Beach Realtors to Increase Sales by as much as 28% the First Month”

b) Use the headline to arouse curiosity.

“The One Type of Stock You Absolutely Do Not Want to Own over the Next 18 months”

c) Deliver a promise in your headline.

“Lose 12 pounds Over the next 2 Weeks Simply by Changing the Way you Cook your Food”

d) State the prospect’s problem in direct language and suggest you’ve got the solution.

“Warning: Cancer Patients Should Avoid the Most Common Sweetener at All Costs…A Leading Oncologist Suggests this Substitute Could Save Your Life”

e) Start Your ad by telling an out-of-the-ordinary story. “Learn How this Golfer with Constant Back-Pain Shaved an Average of 13 Strokes Off his Game by using This New Type of Club.”

f) If your product and its average price is well known to the prospect then your most effective headline might be a simple and direct offer.

“All Movado Watches 66% off Now until this coming Saturday”

The most important thing to remember about creating your headline is to start with your prospective customer.

What is it she or he really wants?

The following are some common (and effective) types of headlines used in copywriting:

How to …

How To (Accomplishment) In (Time Frame)

How To Turn (Problem) Into (Benefit)

How To Get (Goal) From (Something Common)

How To Improve Your…

How To Start…

How To Have…

How To Make (Someone) Do (Something Great)

How To Get Free (Product/Program)

How You Can (Action) In The Next (Time Frame)

How (Unexpected (Event) Changed My (Situation)

How I (Accomplishment) In (Time Frame)

How I (Accomplishment) By (The Unexpected)

How I Improved My (Problem)

An Easy Way to …

A Proven Way to …

Introducing …

A Quick and Easy way to …

Why you should …

Announcing …

If … Then …

(Problem) — How To Fix It

A testimonial can sometimes make a great sales letter headline. Especially if it conveys your product’s biggest benefit. When used in this way it can be powerful…

“We use the 305 Dawson Water Pump every day for plant operations and it always works without a hitch.”

A few last thoughts …

Never use a sales letter headline to trick your prospect. It should ALWAYS be related to your product or service in a way that meaningfully ties in with your copy. If you use tricks to get attention your prospect may start reading your copy, but as soon as they discover they’ve been tricked the sale is dead.

Your sales letter headline doesn’t have to be cute, hype-y or outrageous to get attention. After outlining all your product’s benefits find the one your prospect wants the most and you’ll be on your way.

Laptops for Gaming Becoming Consumer Electronics

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Gaming laptops used to only be brought from select resellers. The systems were circulated in tiny quantities but each one had a great profit margin. Certainly I would confidently say everyone desired one though. They were like the supreme example of what was possible with notebook computer technology, the best laptops in existence. Laptops for gaming would get people thrilled in regard to what’s to become standard in a few years but I do not think they would buy laptops like this whilst be wary that the price is going to drop fast. As larger brands see the profits in the gaming notebook sector, stuff appears to have shifted.

Price wars are not typical is this sector so tier 1 brands should be scooping tons of revenue. Its certainly a great path to bigger profits. With their gigantic marketing resources I’m confident they can get anybody to buy laptops like these. I wonder whether this would be the downfall of the little retailers? In my point of view the global players will dictate the market direction. I believe buying from a well know brand additionally provides the perception of greater value for money.

I guess its funny that as it comes with the brand name they are carelessly though of as the best laptops. In my opinion the smaller system builders should act on this if they are to exist. I bet people that get these types of laptop computers prefer to be able to customise their system. Usually a lot of evaluations of the specifications will be carried out and the tech savvy can say what the superior system really is. The fine point are important for this type of buyer. As a potential prospect myself this is really all a positive thing for me. In the near future premium equipment for your cash will be the result of this change. Though I say that, I’m not actually confident with my claims. New notebook introductions should sustain premium prices. Seeing as the large brand companies have already started introducing gaming laptops, I guess we’ll have to be patient to witness what happens.
